Everything Generation Possibility

I recently read this article by a guy named Jason McCarty.
I stumbled across it on his website by complete fluke but it hit me in the face like a two-by-four.
Quoting both Ernest Becker and Soren Kierkegaard he makes the point that young people are way to concerned with the future and all of the possible decisions that they could make and the possible outcomes that those decisions could give. We as a generation were raised with a wider range of possibility than those that came before us. Where they had religion and faiths we have an open box of constant questioning, challenging, and choices. There is so much in this world bombarding us and we as a generation are overwhelmed with the life-long quest of "who am I" being a lot longer with a lot more twists and turns and possibilities.

So what do we do about this? McCarty says to slow down and let ourselves hit the dead ends to find our paths; and I have to say that I agree with him wholeheartedly.

Personally:
I've spent the awake parts of my days contemplating, complaining, and tearing apart every little possibility to the point where I don't do anything. I sit, overthink, and sulk because I'm not getting anything done ever. I'm not saying that after reading this you'll be a completely different person; because reading an article doesn't change who you are (you do). I'm just saying that maybe tomorrow instead of sitting on the couch all day depressed I'd like to take a few baby steps forwards and find a good bookstore or finally hunt out a coffee shop to live in. I'm not going to magically poof into perfection but I'm not as worried anymore... and that feels really good.
